Description

Note – the weight is for the Standard Range only and not the Slim Line Range.

This stainless-steel weight is 15cm long and 16mm diameter. It has a thread tapped into the top which enables it to be attached to the bottom of the probe – making the probe heavier. This makes it easier to detect the bottom of the borehole or water well. When not in use it is stored in the clips on the side of the reel to make sure it is not lost. The weight is not essential for normal borehole surface water detection, as the sensor itself has sufficient weight to ensure the tape can be readily lowered down the borehole. However, the weight can be useful for situations where you want to detect the bottom of the borehole, or if the sides of the borehole are particularly sticky with mud. It is also useful when drilling. Some of our cistomers tell us they use the weight when dipping down the centre of the drill rod, and it saves having to pull the drill rod out to measure the depth.
